Am I right?

Alrighty..... I met this guy and we hit it off pretty well and he got my phone number and sent me a text asking if I wanted to come over for a pool party... So I did. Then we text message all the next day and he asked if I wanted to hang out that night and I said sure... so then another day went by and not as many text but we didnt hang out... then the next day we didnt text at all hardly then I asked if he wanted to hang out that night and he said sure... now... he is acting so weird... like he is a really cool laid back individual that just like goes with the flow and I told him I like guys who are a little clingy but not crazy and he said he is a little needy but not too much and now like all the sudden... he is not participating in the conversation at all... so I took a hint and stopped trying to talk to him waiting for him to come back to me... Is that the right thing to do? What do you think happened? I mean he was really into me then it died...
