Does anyone else see the striking 1984 parallels with Bush?

I remember reading the book 1984 by George Orwell and thinking it was so ridiculous that there could be constant wars going on that would keep the people placid and not thinking about how bad their own government was... but now that I see this "War on Terror" it seems like Bush was taking notes. Since there is no concrete enemy, and we'll never know if we've won, we are in a the mentality of a constant state of war, and will allow civil liberties to be restricted, and ignore many other governmental abuses in the name of "the fight."
