Ummm, you can't make fictitious characters sound real or believable by borrowing langauge from somebody else. You need to develop your own lingo - that would make it sound more natural. The fakest thing about LE procedurals is the way that some writers try to sound so natural, you can tell how contrived they are. Strong characterization and use of subtext is what drives the best police procedurals.
