MATH QUeSTion!!! Please need Help!?

The answer to number 1 is certainly B (48/20 + 48/30 = 4). As for number 2, it should be A because the canoeist couldn't paddle as fast in still water as with the help of the current, but I can't give you an equation to back it up.
