Can you get schizophrenia through a blood transfusion?

Brother diagnosed with the condition even though having no previous history of mental health problems, no family history, no drug use, but had a blood transfusion and three years later was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Could the blood transfusion be a contributary factor?
